Luohu lays foundations for all-embracing hub of Greater Bay Area
In a recent meeting, the Luohu authorities vowed to create a modern district with a modern economic system by 2025, and become a global benchmark for economic strength and innovation by 2035.
Luohu primary aim is to serve as an all-embracing hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The conference statement stressed the district must make thorough use of its limited land, releasing more land through urban renovation moves for new projects, and roll out more supporting policies to attract investment and talents.
The pillar industries and sectors of the district, which will constitute the backbone of its modern economic system, include the headquarters economy, finance, commerce, commercial services, strategic emerging industries, gold & jewelry and cultural and creative industries.
Last year, Luohu attracted 12 large-scale enterprises to launch new projects in the areas under its jurisdiction with a total annual production value exceeding 100 billion yuan.
The district actively supports the development of commercial services, the gold & jewelry industry and commerce, as well as the development of the digital economy and industrialization of advanced technologies.
The port economic belt, emerging industrial belt and the science and technology corridor it has been building will form a solid foundation for its quality development and integration into the development of the Greater Bay Area in the foreseeable future.
With three ports and two high-speed railway stations operating in the future, its strong economic power and inclusive development environment, and well-protected natural environment and ecology, Luohu has every condition to realize its objective of becoming an all-embracing hub of the Greater Bay Area.
