City reports one imported COVID-19 case
On Jan. 12, Shenzhen reported one imported confirmed case and one imported asymptomatic case of COVID-19.
The confirmed case, a female of Chinese nationality, came to Shenzhen from Hong Kong. She was quarantined upon entry and was later sent to the emergency ward of the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. She was diagnosed as a confirmed case of COVID-19 (normal type) based on consultations by a panel of medical experts that factored in her epidemiological investigations, clinical symptoms and CT screening results. Currently, the patient is in stable condition.
The asymptomatic case is a male cross-border truck driver from Hong Kong. His preliminary nucleic acid test result released by the screening center of Luohu Hospital Group on Jan. 11 was positive, and the reassessed result released by Shenzhen Center for Disease Control and Prevention at 10 p.m. on the same day was also positive with his COVID-19 IgM and IgG antibodies both negative. Informed by the health authority, the truck driver underwent investigations at Huanggang Checkpoint and was later transferred to the emergency ward of the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment. He was diagnosed as an asymptomatic case of COVID-19 based on consultations by a panel of medical experts that factored in his epidemiological investigations, clinical symptoms and CT screening results. Currently, the patient is in stable condition.
