Serving the people priority of Luohu government
The Luohu district government had invested 133 million yuan ($20.32 million) on a total of 865 projects for promoting people’s livelihoods in 2020.
For instance, the government-funded family doctor project and community hospitals, along with volunteers, has played an important role in the district’s COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control work.
Thanks to the attention the government attaches to projects related to people’s livelihood, local residents’ complaints can be heeded and their concerns addressed in a timely and more efficient way, after relevant work procedures were streamlined.
At the height of the epidemic, Luohu invested 3.5 million yuan on nearly 40 projects for improving people’s livelihoods.
Thanks to the government’s input, the people’s awareness of self-protection and importance of cooperating with the prevention and control measures was markedly raised.
The key projects obtaining funding from the district government are mainly public infrastructural facilities, such as household garbage classification systems, and those related to sponge city construction.
At the same time, Luohu has mobilized district members of the Communist Party of China to actively engage in these projects to better serve the people.
