Luohu accelerates development of life and health industry
The Sino-European Center of Biomedicine and Health (SEC) celebrated its anniversary in Luohu on Thursday. Established in March 2023 through a partnership between the People's Government of Luohu District and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the SEC has marked a strong beginning for Luohu’s collaboration in the life and health sector.
Cai Lintao, Chairman of the SEC, emphasized that the center is committed to innovation-driven development and mutually beneficial cooperation. He noted that the SEC aims to foster the growth of the life and health sector in Luohu by promoting the transformation of high-end technologies and improving public health.
Liu Chenli, President of SIAT at CAS, highlighted the SEC’s potential for growth amid evolving technological and industrial revolutions. He pledged that SIAT would continue to support the SEC with resources, technology, and strategic guidance to advance innovation, R&D, talent cultivation, and the pharmaceutical health industry.
Luohu is prioritizing technological innovation, industrial system upgrades, and regional development by exploring cutting-edge sectors such as artificial intelligence, life and health sciences, the low-altitude economy, and cellular and genetic research.
As a new R&D hub for targeted medical care, intelligent health, and medical materials, the SEC plays a critical role in connecting innovation, talent, and industry. It focuses on integrating innovative resources, accelerating the transformation of R&D outcomes, and fostering business matchmaking and investment.
On the same day, the SEC launched its medical equipment Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) platform. The platform offers a range of services, including CDMO registration, patent application, and consultation for companies in the medical equipment industry. Currently, 11 medical equipment registration projects are under collaboration.
