2024 Shenzhen–Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Conference shows opportunities for multinational firms
On October 29, the 2024 Shenzhen (Luohu)-Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Conference took place in Shanghai, themed “Shanghai and Shenzhen Together, Connecting the World.” The event aimed to build bridges for foreign enterprises, boost collaboration between the Pearl River and Yangtze River Deltas, and showcase growth opportunities.
Executives from 34 multinational companies, including 15 Fortune 500 companies such as Volvo, Amazon, and General Electric, discussed Luohu’s appeal for foreign investment. They highlighted its established transportation network, financial hub status, and 144-hour visa-free transit policy. Luohu’s strategic location near Hong Kong, diverse financial services, and business-friendly environment have attracted over 8,000 foreign businesses, making it a prime base for multinationals expanding in the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
Shenzhen’s recent 20-point policy enhances foreign investment by optimizing the business environment, providing financial support, and expanding service sector access, especially in finance, healthcare, and eldercare. With the newly established Luohu Investment Promotion Bureau, Luohu is set to further support and streamline foreign investment projects in the region.
The conference also featured expert discussions on global investment trends and market opportunities, underscoring Luohu’s pivotal role in foreign business expansion in China.
