Eastern Yixiang China Fashion Gala unveils a fusion of cultures
On Oct. 17, 2024, the Eastern Yixiang China Fashion Gala kicked off in Shenzhen’s Luohu district. Focusing on product strength fueling brand power, the gala explored how the Chinese jewelry industry can incorporate traditional cultural elements into modern designs.
More than 40 jewelry companies showcased their creations at the event, offering a feast of China-chic fashion, celebrating China's cultural heritage through modern interpretations.
A highlight of the event was the inaugural "East-West Fusion" jewelry design competition featuring global expression of Chinese elements. This contest attracted participation from independent designers and students from 38 renowned design institutions around the world, creating a vibrant exchange of ideas.
Monica, founder of Rome Jewelry Week, noted the significance of the event in fostering cross-cultural dialogues. “The Eastern Yixiang China Fashion Gala provides an excellent platform for the exchange and integration between Roman and Eastern jewelry cultures. Roman designers are inspired by Eastern jade traditions, while Eastern designers learn from Roman metal engraving techniques. This cultural exchange enhances the development of global jewelry culture," Monica remarked.
