Luohu consumer activity further thrives during National Day holiday
During the National Day holiday, Luohu showcased its remarkable consumer potential and market appeal, further solidifying its status as a key commercial center in Shenzhen. The week-long festivities featured a myriad of art exhibitions, cultural performances, and promotional activities in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, drawing large numbers of visitors eager to explore, dine, and reconnect with family and friends.
As a vital cross-border transportation hub, Luohu Port and Liantang Port experienced sustained high passenger flows. Statistics indicate that from Oct. 1 to 7, the Liantang Port recorded 519,000 border crossings, marking a 59% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, 15,600 various modes of transport crossed through Liantang, while Luohu Port saw over 1.409 million crossings, averaging 201,000 daily, marking a 27.4% year-on-year increase.
The holiday season brought a bustling atmosphere to Luohu’s major business zones, reflecting a significant release of consumer vitality. Preliminary data shows that foot traffic in 12 large shopping centers in Luohu rose by 33.2% compared to the same period of last year, with overall revenue increasing by 12.4%. Notably, the recent opening of the south part of Shenzhen Teemall ed to the distribution of nearly 1,000 coupons covering food, beverages, entertainment, fitness, and beauty services, resulting in a remarkable 200% increase in foot traffic.
Furthermore, the National Day holiday coincides with a peak wedding season, attracting many consumers to the gold and jewelry trading hub of Shuibei in Luohu. According to a local jeweler, sales volume increased by approximately 40%, with foot traffic up by 30%.
In addition to jewelry, home goods and fashion retail in Luohu also experienced robust growth, highlighting the district's dynamic consumer landscape during this festive period. As Luohu continues to thrive, it reaffirms its position as a key player in Shenzhen's commercial ecosystem.
