Luohu actively develops a ‘beauty economy’
The service industry is a cornerstone of Luohu district in Shenzhen, with the medical aesthetics sector experiencing rapid growth. Luohu is actively developing a “beauty economy” and aims to become a leading medical aesthetics hub.
Over the past two decades, Luohu has made significant strides in the number of establishments, technical expertise, and industry influence, laying a solid foundation for the medical aesthetics industry’s accelerated growth. By the end of 2023, Luohu had 91 medical aesthetics institutions, accounting for 11.86% of Shenzhen’s total. This includes eight medical aesthetics hospitals, ranking among the top in the city. The district also boasts 381 attending medical aesthetics physicians, representing 17.53% of the city’s total, ranking third among all districts in Shenzhen.
Currently, Luohu has basically established a medical aesthetics industry cluster along the Luohu Port-Wenjindou Port. "This industrial cluster offers consumers a one-stop service experience, reduces labor costs for businesses, and lowers product prices, benefiting consumers," said Kong Shu, director of the Luohu District Health Bureau.
To support Shenzhen's goal of becoming a medical aesthetics hub, Luohu introduced ten measures at the end of last year to promote high-quality clustered development of the medical aesthetics industry. The ten measures have further leveraged the advantages of Luohu’s medical aesthetics industry, promoting the high-quality clustered development of medical aesthetics buildings and zones, Kong Shu noted.
