Gig market in Luohu thrives
Hong Zexin, a post-95s entrepreneur, began focusing on the gig market during his university days. Initially, he posted job listings in campus part-time groups. Over six years, his company, Shenzhen YouYou Easy Employment Technology Co., Ltd., has attracted 6 million followers, providing efficient, professional solutions for gig workers and employers.
Luohu is a prime destination for job seekers and a starting point for many pursuing their Shenzhen Dream. As one of the earliest districts to develop human resources services, Luohu has become a crucial employment hub.
Achievements in the Gig Market
Since its establishment on September 4, 2023, the first gig market in Luohu, co-built by Luohu District and Shenzhen Talent Group, has played a significant role in expanding employment channels and fostering new economic drivers. Located in the Greater Bay Area Talent Innovation Park, this market offers a comprehensive range of services including policy consultation, job matching, skills enhancement, and rights protection.
Facilities include seating areas, chargers, air conditioning, drinking water, and an affordable cafeteria. Since its inception, the market has attracted 1,611 gig workers and 115 employers, providing 1,256 gig jobs and incorporating 593 workers into its talent pool. It ranks among the top ten in service quality among Shenzhen's 45 gig markets.
Luohu's Expanding Human Resources Sector
As of now, Luohu District oversees 137 human resources service agencies and 147 labor dispatch agencies. The Greater Bay Area Talent Innovation Park is exploring the creation of a virtual talent industry park to extend services to various sectors and regions, led by Shenzhen Talent Industrial Park Co., Ltd.
New Policies for High-Quality Development
In February, Luohu District introduced measures to support the high-quality development of the human resources service industry. These measures aim to create a leading core area and an innovative development demonstration zone.
Key incentives include up to 100 million yuan in support for leading companies over three years, up to 1 million yuan for top companies, and significant rental subsidies. The policies also offer support for high-end internet businesses, well-known headhunting agencies, and specialized parks. Shenzhen Human Capital Group, a major taxpayer in Luohu, received over 10 million yuan in subsidies between 2021 and 2022.
