Shenzhen Children's Park unveils restoration plan
Shenzhen Children's Park, built in 1987, is located southwest of Yayuan Interchange Bridge in the Luohu District of Shenzhen. The park features three main entrances: east, south, and north, and spans an area of approximately 6 hectares, serving as a themed park offering various recreational activities for children.
Covering a total area of 60,482.72 square meters, the park's planning scheme includes 10 buildings with a total construction area of 13,315 square meters and provisions for 408 to 450 parking spaces, including 360 public parking spaces.
The quality improvement project for Shenzhen Children's Park has completed design and tender phases, encompassing the construction of children's play facilities, terrain reorganization, water and electricity infrastructure, and landscaping.
The renovation plan is inspired by the theme of the Chinese zodiac and includes six new play areas designed to enhance children's physical abilities, skills, exploration capabilities, social awareness, environmental control, and strategic thinking. These areas include an innovative climbing playground, a dynamic playground with sandy terrain, and a technologically advanced water playground.
While upgrading the park, the design team has preserved cultural elements and nostalgic attractions such as the iconic elephant slide and zodiac sculptures, which have been cherished by generations of children. Additionally, the park is designed to be a natural play area, encouraging children to engage with and explore nature, promoting physical health and a sense of adventure in a natural environment.
