Comprehensive port hospital to be established in Luohu
On Feb. 5, Shenzhen's Luohu District and Hong Kong's CMER Eye Medical Group signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation, outlining plans to establish a comprehensive port hospital with Hong Kong styles. The hospital, spanning approximately 10,000 square meters, is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the customs checkpoint. It will include specialized departments such as dentistry, ophthalmology, imaging and physical examinations, gynecology, and urology, among others.
Furthermore, both parties will engage in talent development, research collaboration, establishment of mechanisms for interdisciplinary technical cooperation, and integration of medical services between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Situated in the core region of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Luohu shares natural and cultural affinities with Hong Kong. With three major border ports of Luohu, Wenjindu, and Liantang, the district is home to nearly 40,000 permanent Hong Kong residents and hosts almost 6,500 Hong Kong-funded enterprises. Leveraging these ample advantages, Luohu is committed to becoming a pioneer in promoting the integrated development of Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
In recent years, Luohu has been steadfast in its efforts to build itself into a "super link" that connects resources between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. Capitalizing on its mature public services for Hong Kong residents and the high recognition from Hong Kong compatriots, Luohu is accelerating the alignment of public service rules, advancing diversified, refined, and internationalized livelihood services.
