Luohu launches e-CNY cards for overseas tourists
Luohu district recently unveiled a self-service machine for issuing e-CNY 2.0 hard wallets, marking a groundbreaking move that allows overseas tourists to obtain e-CNY cards using their passports. This initiative effectively resolves the inconvenience faced by international visitors making purchases for the first time in China. It aligns with proactive efforts to elevate payment service quality for overseas individuals in China and contributes to building Shenzhen into an international consumption hub.
Looking ahead, Luohu will focus on building itself into a pioneering zone for e-CNY application. Centered around China's first e-CNY industrial park established in Luohu, the district will leverage its strengths in industrial concentration, bolster technological and financial innovation, and create a sustainable e-CNY ecosystem across all sectors. This endeavor seeks to set a benchmark for Shenzhen in establishing an innovative hub for e-CNY utilization.
