Luohu convenes economic work conference to promote high-quality development
On January 4, 2024, the fifth plenary meeting of the eighth Luohu District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the district's economic work conference convened.
Fan Defan, head of Luohu district and deputy secretary of the Luohu CPC Committee, delivered a work report on behalf of the committee. The report reviewed the past year's achievements and outlined plans for the year ahead.
Luohu achieved notable economic milestones in 2023. The investment promotion conference secured a significant total of 123.6 billion yuan in signed agreements. Several supportive policies were implemented to foster the medical and beauty industry, as well as the field of wealth management. Notably, the district established Shenzhen's first equity investment fund combining urban state-owned enterprises and stock cooperative companies.
Furthermore, Luohu committed 1 billion yuan to invest in key industries. The nation's first digital renminbi industrial park commenced operations in Luohu, while Shenzhen's first tourism industrial park was approved for development.
The Big Wutong ecological integration area was officially designated as one of the city's key areas, bringing the total number of such areas in Luohu to three, alongside four headquarters economic agglomeration zones.
The Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Business and Trade Upgrading and Development Zone spearheaded cross-border credit pilot projects, providing nearly 2.6 billion yuan in domestic credit loans to Hong Kong businesses. The "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Culture Month" also proved successful.
Beyond economic initiatives, Luohu district prioritized enhancing the lives of its citizens. Eighteen pocket parks and gardens were constructed, and 15.48 kilometers of countryside paths were renovated. Cuihu Sports Park, the city's first zero-carbon park, was established.
The district added 4,650 compulsory education places by creating five new primary and secondary schools and kindergarten education groups. Four existing schools were also renovated and expanded.
Luohu invested 164 million yuan in improving people's livelihoods through over 800 service initiatives. The district became one of China's first batch of national demonstration districts for medical and nursing integration, and the Yucun community was recognized as the "2023 National Model Ageing-Friendly Community."
Looking ahead to 2024, the district will focus on promoting consumption to stimulate economic growth, bolstering Shenzhen-Hong Kong integrated development to unlock new potential, enhancing the modern service industry to attract businesses and investment. Efforts will be made to prioritize the construction of major areas and identify new development opportunities, deepen reforms to improve the business environment, as well as enhance people's well-being through initiatives in education, child care, and elderly care.
By pursuing these goals, Luohu district aims to build a brighter future for its citizens and solidify its position as a key player in Shenzhen's ongoing development.
