Smart manufacturing techniques have greatly bolstered the production of gold and jewelry in Luohu.
The production of a piece of jewelry used to involve numerous intricate processes. Now, with the introduction of intelligent production lines and precision carving machinery, many unnecessary intermediate steps have been streamlined. This has led to a substantial reduction in human labor, boosting production capacity to three to five times its previous levels. For instance, a gold bracelet can now be completed in just half an hour.
A gold jewelry store owner commented, "Jewelry crafted using 5G technology is characterized by its petite and refined design, with relatively lower weight. As a result, their price range is well within the financial means of younger consumers, contributing to their widespread popularity."
In 2022, the number of legal entities in the gold and jewelry industry in Luohu surpassed 6,500, with a total operating income surpassing 120 billion yuan. As of the third quarter of 2023, the revenue of gold and jewelry enterprises above designated size in Luohu had already exceeded 74 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of over 15%.
