Luohu unveils pharmacy, health research center
The China-Europe Innovative Pharmacy and Health Research Center, jointly established by Luohu District and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was unveiled during the 25th China High-Tech Fair in Shenzhen on Nov. 15, marking the formal implementation of Luohu's first major applied fundamental research platform. The inaugural Greater Bay Area International Biomedical Academician Forum was also held during the event.
At the forum, Wu Chuangzhi, secretary of the CPC Committee of SIAT, pointed out that the collaboration between the SIAT and Luohu District is based on the district's potential development of a comprehensive health industry. He added that efforts would be made to promote the industry's integrated development with research and accelerate the transformation of innovative pharmacy.
Offering highly positive praise for the research center, Feng Jian, vice major of Luohu District, believes that the center will forge a new path to drive the district's technological innovation, commercialization, industrial optimization, and high-quality economic development. She noted that the district will bolster the research center in terms of research investment, platform construction, talent introduction, and technological application.
The research center is currently located in Luohu's Qingshuihe business area. It features a total of 64 core principal investigators and 25 outstanding talents. This includes four full-time overseas academicians, nine national-level outstanding talents, 12 national-level young talents, and eight scientists who rank in the top 2% globally.
