Luohu’s artwork wins 13th China Dance Lotus Award
The original artwork "Listening to the Pine Breeze," formerly known as "Six Gentlemen," won the Contemporary Dance Award at the 13th China Dance Lotus Award on Nov. 6.
The Lotus Award is the most prestigious dance award in China, organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Dancers Association. The 13th edition was held in Shenzhen from Sep. 22 to 24.
"Listening to the Pine Breeze" was jointly created by the Luohu District Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Hong Kong Dance Company, and the Shenzhen Dancers Association. The inspiration for the work comes from Ni Zan, a painter from the Yuan Dynasty, and his painting "Six Gentlemen." The dancers combine martial arts with dance to highlight the concepts of integrity, mutual dependence, and other symbolic meanings, expressing the traditional humanistic idea of "harmony in diversity."
Luohu's writers and artists will continue to strive to create more artistic masterpieces, tell the story of the Greater Bay Area, spread the voice of China, and promote high-quality development in the new era of literature and art.
