Luohu to contribute to the development of Hong Kong’s Northern Metropolis
John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), noted in the Chief Executive's 2023 Policy Address that efforts will be made to move ahead with the area's Northern Metropolis as the new engine for growth and that the metropolis will be divided into four major zones.
Notably, the boundary commerce and industry zone is located in Luohu. Occupying the largest stretch of land, this zone enjoys the geographic advantages of the three ports of Luohu, Wenjindu, and Liantang. Apart from driving the development of industries such as advanced construction, green environment, healthcare, food technology, and modern logistics, this zone will promote cross-boundary business services and entertainment spending.
