Luohu strives to enhance mental health services
Oct. 10 marked the 32nd World Mental Health Day, with this year’s theme being promoting child and adolescent mental health.
Taking into account how disabled children and adolescents live in the district, Luohu has formulated the “Implementation Plan for Rehabilitation Assistance for Disabled Children and Adolescents,” focusing on providing rehabilitation services for disabled kids and adolescents, especially those with mental and intellectual disabilities.
In order to provide free daytime care for mental patients in the district, the Luohu Disabled Persons’ Federation and the Luohu Institute for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control have jointly established the non-profit rehabilitation institution called “Dandelion Clubhouse.” It is the first mental patient rehabilitation institution in Guangdong province to acquire international clubhouse certification. Moreover, it also received the “Hilton Humanitarian Prize” in collaboration with multiple global organizations, making it the only clubhouse in the province to receive this prestigious award.
