Liantang Port sees sharp rise in passengers
On July 1, the flow of inbound and outbound passengers through the Liantang Port of Luohu district hit a new high, reaching 51,300, double that of previous work days and far exceeding the port’s designed daily flow of 30,000 passengers.
On July 2, the number of inbound passengers via the port also reached 49,300.
The monitoring of inbound and outbound passengers at the Liantang border checkpoint shows that peak inbound passenger flow on July 1 and July 2 was concentrated during the time between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm, while peak outbound passenger flow was concentrated between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm. In addition, the number of customs clearances reached 5,500 per hour during peak periods.
To meet the needs of the growing number of passengers at Liantang Port, Shenzhen opened a new bus service, J66, connecting Longgang with Liantang Port on July 1 and operating between 8 am to 6:30 pm.
