Last shantytown renovation project in Shenzhen launched in Luohu
A major shantytown renovation project of Caopu neighborhood in Luohu, the last of its kind in Shenzhen, kicked off on April 19.
Head
of Luohu District Fan Defan, Deputy Head Huo Guangyong, and other
Shenzhen officials and company representatives attended the project
launching ceremony.
Huo pointed out that the project should be
carried out in a way that can bring tangible benefits to the people,
apply well-concerned methods, and abide by the law.
Covering an area
of about 34,200 square meters, the Caopu project is the last shantytown
renovation project in Shenzhen. It involves 711 families and will settle
complicated issues regarding property ownership disputes, illegal
constructions, and insufficient supporting facilities, among other
areas.
Mote than 95% of the residents involved have signed contracts to renovate their departments.
