On July 29, the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality announced the first and second batches of recognized Shenzhen software parks.
In recent years, Shenzhen's software and information services industry has experienced rapid growth, ranking among the top in major cities across China. According to the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Statistics, the added value of the software and information services sector in Shenzhen surpassed 300 billion yuan in 2023, marking a year-on-year growth of 23.8%.
Strategic planning and policy support have been pivotal in this development. In June 2022, the Shenzhen Municipal Government issued a document focused on developing and strengthening strategic emerging industry clusters and cultivating future industries, including the software and information services industry as one of the "20+8" industry clusters.
On Oct. 25, 2022, the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality released several measures to promote the high-quality development of the software industry. According to these measures, recognized software parks (bases) at the national, provincial, or municipal level are eligible for a one-time reward of five million yuan, three million yuan, and two million yuan, respectively.
