Shenzhen selected as national pilot city for manufacturing technology renovation
This year, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched the first pilot program for new-type manufacturing technology renovation in cities. Guangzhou and Shenzhen were selected as national pilot cities.
According to reports, the central government will provide fixed rewards to the selected cities to support the organization of demonstration projects. This includes demonstrations of digital and intelligent renovations, demonstrations of digital collaboration in industrial and supply chains, and demonstrations of digital and green renovations in industrial clusters and technological industrial parks. The aim is to accelerate the promotion and application of digital intelligence technologies, green technologies, and innovative products. Each selected city will receive up to 3 billion yuan in reward funds, with 50% of the funds disbursed in the first year of the pilot implementation period and the remaining 50% disbursed after the completion and evaluation of the pilot. The reward funds will be used by the selected cities to support enterprise technology renovation projects, with the support methods determined locally, including investment subsidies, loan interest discounts, and guarantee fee subsidies. The support funds for a single project will not exceed 20% of the total project investment.
A relevant official from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance stated that moving forward, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance will work with the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology to guide Guangzhou and Shenzhen in effectively utilizing central government funds. They will vigorously promote new technology renovations in the areas of intelligence, digitization, and network connectivity, create a batch of major demonstration projects, and facilitate enterprise equipment updates, process upgrades, digital empowerment, and management innovation.
This effort aims to drive the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, enhance the development level of high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing, and provide strong support for Guangdong Province in accelerating the cultivation of new productive forces and advancing new-type industrialization.
