Shenzhen ranked third in the “Chinese City Convention/Exhibition/Event Competitiveness Index Report 2022” released by the China Convention/Exhibition/Event Society on Oct. 26. The index is considered a comprehensive measure of the convention and exhibition industry’s vitality and resilience, future potential, and business environment of a city.
According to the report, among the 105 sample cities analyzed, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Shanghai came out on top.
Since the beginning of this year, Shenzhen has continuously bolstered its efforts to attract and organize exhibitions. Data shows that in the first half of this year, the city held nearly 80 exhibitions in total, with the actual exhibition area reaching 4.37 million square meters, representing an increase of 6.9 times and 6.5 times, respectively, compared to the same period last year. There are a further 100 exhibitions planned for the next year, and the annual exhibition area is expected to amount to 9 million square meters, hitting a record high.
