Shenzhen port sees steady growth in throughput in H1
Shenzhen has tried to take advantage of its geographical location as a hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area to promote a fast flow of production factors across the region.
According to Shenzhen Customs, in the first half of this year, Shenzhen port's import and export throughput was nearly 13.7 million TEUs, up 6.4% yearly. The port has 303 foreign trade routes, a growth of 8.2% year-on-year.
Shenzhen Customs has continuously promoted the expansion of the Combined Port of the Greater Bay Area project, supporting the implementation of "water-water transfer" and realizing the rapid allocation of barges within 24 hours by waterway through coordinated supervision, optimizing routes for liner companies, reducing docking points, and improving logistics efficiency.
Since the beginning of this year, the import and export throughput of the Combined Port in the Greater Bay Area has reached 111,000 TEUs, up 5.2 times year-on-year.
Shenzhen Customs said that in the first half of this year, the "Bay Area" China-Europe freight train had run a total of 55 trains, carrying 27,500 tons of cargo and nearly 1.6 billion yuan worth of cargo, up 48.6%, 38.7%, and 38.5% respectively year-on-year, which provides a strong guarantee for the stability of the international industrial chains and supply chains of enterprises in Shenzhen and Guangdong province.
