Shenzhen Enterprises Shine at 136th Canton Fair
The 136th China Import and Export Fair (or Canton Fair) officially kicked off on Oct. 15 in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong province. According to the Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, the city is set to showcase products from 1,484 enterprises at the offline exhibition. Themed "Serving high-quality development, promoting high-level opening-up," this edition of the Canton Fair will run from Oct. 15 to Nov. 4, spanning three phases in Guangzhou.
With a total exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters and 74,000 booths across 55 sections and 171 specialty areas, this year’s Canton Fair brings together a broad spectrum of industries. The three phases will focus on advanced manufacturing, quality home furnishings, and an enhanced lifestyle, providing a platform to showcase new productive capacities.
Over 30,000 enterprises will participate in the offline exhibition, with 29,400 export-oriented exhibitors, marking an increase of nearly 800 from the previous edition. Among them are 4,600 first-time exhibitors. Notably, more than 8,000 of the participating companies are recognized for their status as national high-tech enterprises, "little giant" companies (novel and elite small and medium-sized enterprises that specialize in a niche market, boast cutting-edge technologies, and show great potential), or manufacturing enterprises that are champions in their individual categories, representing a 40% increase compared to the previous fair. Additionally, around 3,600 companies will showcase products related to the "new trio" (electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products), digital technologies and intelligent manufacturing, while over 14,000 companies with independent brands and 18,000 companies with international certifications will be featured.
This year’s Canton Fair will debut 1.15 million new products, 1.04 million green products, and 1.11 million items with independent intellectual property rights, all showing significant growth from last year. Furthermore, approximately 400 new product launches will be held during the fair, marking a 30% increase compared to the previous edition.
